Christopher Tawanda Garai was born into the Nyajena Clan in Masvingo on the 28th of December 1963. His mother was Rosemary Musinavanhu Garai and his Father was Cleopas Mahove Garai Ruvengo.

His father Rugahla Ruvengo Garai was poisoned on the 25th of December 1963 under a tree waiting for the District Administrator to make him Chief Nyajena.

The same fate met his father  Cleopas Mahove Garai Ruvengo when he was also given food poison and finally passed on in 2010 pending reinstatement of the Ruvengo Headmanship under Chief Nyajena Masvingo.

Christopher is doing both as an individual and as a leader to his own people because of his own experience in Zimbabwe and his proudly felt African background. 

He did his Primary education at Garai Primary and Nyajena Primary School and for his secondary education, he did it at Musvovi Secondary School where he sat for the 1984 Cambridge Ordinary level Examinations.

He served as a Zimbabwe Republic Police Chaplain for 23 years, a pastor with ZAOGA/FIF Ministries and five years with Awake Grace Minister as a Pastor.

Christopher left Awake to form his own Ministry Chris Foundation Int. Ministries and the Chris Garai Bible College an affiliate with JIAZO Bible University.

Driven by passion to lead, help and build the lives of his people Chris founded and registered the Chris Garai Foundation in 2016.

The Chris Garai comprises the Chris Garai Schools, the Chris Garai Foundation as a CBO, the Chris Garai Foundation Estate Administrators.

Christopher Garai has footprints in Gokwe North and Gokwe South, Vunga Rural Council, Sanyati Rural Council, Kadoma City Council and Masvingo Rutral District Council.
